Frequently Asked Questions
You have questions. We have the truth.
THE MISSION & THE NAME
Q: Is it wrong to say "Jesus"? A: No, it is not a sin to say "Jesus." God looks at the heart, and He knows who you are praying to. Millions have found salvation calling upon the name of Jesus. However, we believe there is a deeper level of intimacy found in the truth. "Jesus" is a translation of a translation. Yeshua is His given name. It is the name His mother used. It is the name that connects Him to His Hebrew heritage. We aren't here to condemn the name Jesus; we are here to reveal the richness of the name Yeshua.
Q: What does "Yeshua" actually mean? A: This is why the name matters. In English, "Jesus" has no dictionary definition—it is simply a proper noun. In Hebrew, Yeshua (ישוע) is a word that literally means "Salvation" or "Yahweh Saves." When you speak His name, you are speaking His purpose.
Q: How do I pronounce it correctly? A: It is pronounced "Yeh-SHU-ah." The emphasis is usually on the middle syllable.
Q: Are you part of a specific denomination? A: We are believers in the Messiah. We are not bound by a specific denomination. Our goal is to unite the Body of believers by returning to the roots of our faith and honoring the King in His original context.
Q: Why do you focus so much on the "Hebrew Roots"? A: You cannot understand the fruit if you cut off the root. The Messiah was Hebrew. The Apostles were Hebrew. The Scriptures were written in a Hebrew context. To truly understand the Bible, we believe you must understand the culture and language in which it was written.
